Dear Hope Nation,
I just attended the noontime all-recovery meeting behind Hope. Like cold orange juice first thing in the morning, spending time with folks in early-ish recovery opens my eyes and makes me happy to be alive. Among the many things we talked about that challenge of waiting for changes to happen. As folks leaving addiction, we tend to want what we want when we want it, if not a little bit earlier. Patience often seems like an unattainable virtue. We also talked of bits of wisdom we’ve found walking the path of recovery—or at least the things that sound like wisdom to us.
In honor of the joy of that meeting, I’d like to share with you a collection of quotations. While I’d prefer to write a heart-to-heart letter every single day, reader feedback shows quote letters are very meaningful for many folks, each of whom matters, just like
You matter. I matter. We matter.
